Creating a Tranquil Oasis: A Stunning Interior Design Project

Today, we're looking at a captivating recent interior design project that exudes tranquillity and relaxation. We had the pleasure of sitting down with Christiane Roy, Senior Designer at Beyond The Stage Homes, who shared her insights on the design process, key considerations, and the final elements that make this project truly remarkable.

Join us as we explore the journey from concept to execution and discover the secrets behind creating a serene sanctuary within a home.

The design process for this project began by attentively listening to the client's desires and requirements for the space. Understanding how they wanted to live and utilize the area was paramount. After assessing the existing space, the team embarked on exploring various options for space planning and layout. Once the vision for the bathroom was conceptualized, the team created floorplans, style ideas, and curated inspirational images to help the client visualize the final design. Regular and comprehensive communication ensured that the clients were comfortable with and understood the anticipated budget and timelines, minimizing any potential surprises during the execution phase.

The driving factors for this project were to create a brighter and lighter bathroom that reflected a spa-like ambiance. The design included a new dedicated toilet enclosure, a spacious shower area with the provision for a steam shower, a luxurious free-standing tub, and a double sink vanity. Additionally, the incorporation of open shelving met the client's specific request for additional attractive storage for towels.

The concepts were presented to the client through detailed visualizations, allowing them to fully comprehend and engage with the proposed design.

Christiane drew inspiration from the clients themselves, taking into account their lifestyle, preferences, and individual personalities. This approach ensured that the space created was not only visually stunning but also suited the clients' unique needs. By understanding how people live and how they utilize their surroundings, the design team tailored the project to the clients' tastes, resulting in a highly personalized and intimate space.

To infuse relaxation and tranquillity into the bathroom, the design team employed a combination of design elements. A white base with warm undertones was chosen to create a light and airy atmosphere while contrasting finishes added depth and visual interest. The strategic placement of the free-standing tub in front of a window allowed natural light to flood the space, while simultaneously offering a serene view. These thoughtful design choices collectively transformed the bathroom into a spa-like retreat.

For this project, the design team opted for a consistent tile application, using the same tile on the flooring, shower floor, and walls. However, they employed size and format variations to create a visually captivating and dynamic look. Bronze plumbing fixtures were chosen to introduce contrasting warmth and complement the overall aesthetic. The addition of a wood vanity further enhanced the sense of coziness, bringing a touch of nature and warmth into the room.

When asked about her favourite element of the final design, Christiane highlighted the placement of the free-standing tub in front of the window, providing a captivating focal point. Paired with an oversized artwork and a round side table, this arrangement not only adds visual interest but also invites relaxation and contemplation, making it a true standout feature within the space.

This captivating interior design project demonstrates the art of creating a tranquil oasis within a home. By prioritizing the clients' needs and preferences, incorporating relaxation elements, and making careful material selections, the design team transformed a bathroom into a serene sanctuary. The final result is a space that not only meets the clients' expectations but also reflects their personality and offers a luxurious retreat within their home.
